Life, Doodles and all that Imagination!

So ive put together a rough begining for the piece, I like the look but I think I need to set up the shot better looking back at it. Not sure whether to keep the random items on the desk or place. Considering the character of Ida, she used to be very social before she obtained her condition and maybe having the laptop in view would suggest that but im still trying to decide. Ida is trying to write a letter to Midas explaining her feelings before her time is up. I guess the beginning is a short time lapse while she is writing. The part with the emptying tea cup has been re done with still photographs and will be used as a stop motion in the editing process, wither that or I could drink the tea through a straw so the cup doesnt move and film it with live action so it looks like the liquid is disapppearing smoothly out of the cup. I shall post the vid in a once its uploaded to youtube.

Tomorrow is the day i start to set up the wall collage which will form the basis of the stop motion, and hopefully get some of that done, im excited to see what it looks like.

Ok, so Iv failed to talk about what ive been up to in the last two weeks, so Il fill you in now. After purchasing the ripod I then went on to film some live action footage, basing the beginning around Ida trying to write a letter to Midas as the time of her death comes closer. I am going to record a small voiceover of Idas letter over the top as well as sounds of crumpling paper, scratchy writing, the sound of rainy weather and clocks ticking. This will form the beginning.

Midas fiddling with his camera, looking at photographs ans creating a wall of images he has taken. This will be in both stop motion and live footage, stop motion of the collage growing. This is where the stop motion cut out animation will come in. The photographs on the wall will begin to move slightly, this will be captured using a stills camera to give me the ability to move the drawings in between frames. The sound will be a boiling kettle, snippets of Idas letter, rain, footsteps, cameras clicking away as if theyre taking some photographs. When looking at individual frames, the noises of clanging glass, clocks ticking, wind and leaves.

Focus on the weather and empty surroundings with the ambient sounds.

Ida Interrupts the tranquility with the near ending of her letter.

Screen goes blank.

Goodbye Midas (pause)……. I love you.

This is the overall plan. Hoping to have most of the stuff put together in a sort of draft to show Conor this week.
If this comes out as Ive planned

I will be pleased.

I have had a totally rocky start but tonight I believe ive made a step in the right direction. Bring on tomorrow and wel take it from there.

(When will I actually stop being a complete fool and lose all confidence in myself so quickly and go into complete meltdown, who knows but its taken a week and a half to pick myself up again so I dont need any more of those thanks you. I need to stop taking everything to heart and toughen up or I will get nowhere in life.)
